March Baby of the Month: Molly Cate Myrick

There’s something extra special about a first baby—and for Lauren and Mason Myrick, March brought a moment they’ll never forget with the arrival of their sweet girl, Molly Kate.

Molly Cate Myrick made her debut on March 4th at 10:46 a.m., weighing 7 pounds, 9 ounces, and measuring 20 inches long. As their first child, her arrival marked the beginning of a brand-new chapter filled with love, learning, and lots of snuggles.

Lauren shared that her experience throughout pregnancy and delivery was one she’ll always cherish. One of those reasons, was because of her OB/GYN Dr. Paul  Megehee.

“Dr. Megehee was very positive and encouraging about the whole experience and was always available to answer any questions I had,” she said. 

That sense of reassurance carried through her entire journey.

Her delivery day was made even more meaningful by being surrounded by the people she loves most. 

“I was able to have my husband in the delivery room and also my twin sister in there with me, and that was very comforting having people in there that also got to experience that with me,” Lauren shared. 

In a full-circle moment, her twin sister had also delivered at Marshall Medical North with Dr. Megehee just a few months prior. 

“It was special to be able to go through most of my pregnancy with her and Dr. Megehee and have her there with me.”

Lauren also had high praise for the care team who supported her every step of the way. 

“The nurses during my birth and postpartum care were really encouraging and positive and helpful—that made my experience a really good one,” she said. “The staff did a really good job of making us feel comfortable. They were very prepared and very attentive.”

Now home and settling into life as a family of three, Lauren and Mason are soaking in all the first moments with Molly Cate, and it’s safe to say she’s already wrapped them around her tiny fingers.
