Cheryl Hays

President, Marshall Medical Centers

Cheryl Hays holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Jacksonville State University along with a Master of Science Degree in Health Administration from the University of Alabama in Birmingham. She is a fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives.

From 1988 until 1995, Mrs. Hays was the Vice President of Clinical Services for Cullman Regional Medical Center, and from 1995 until the time she joined MMC in 1999, held the position of President at Lawrence Baptist Medical Center in Moulton, Alabama.

In 1999, Mrs. Hays joined Marshall Medical Centers as the Chief Operating Officer of Marshall Medical Center North, and in 2002 was also named Administrator of MMC North. Mrs. Hays assumed the role of President of Marshall Medical Centers on May 1, 2020.

Dr. Baron C. Maze is a Marshall County native who grew up in Arab and is now raising his family there. He is a graduate of Arab High School and serves as a member of the Arab City Schools Board of Education. Dr. Maze graduated from the University of Alabama School of Medicine and is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine. He worked as a hospitalist at DCH Regional Medical Center in Tuscaloosa and as a primary care doctor at Lakeside Clinic in Guntersville prior to joining Marshall Medical Center North in 2008.

Taylor Walker is a Guntersville native who has a Bachelor of Science in Commerce & Business Administration from the University of Alabama where he majored in Finance. He obtained his Executive MBA from the University of North Alabama. Prior to coming to Marshall Medical Centers, Mr. Walker worked in progressive positions as a Financial Analyst, Senior Financial Analyst, Assistant Controller, and Controller at hospitals located in Lakeway, TX and San Antonio, TX. In 2015, in a move to return to Alabama, he accepted a position as the Assistant Chief Financial Officer at Crestwood Medical Center in Huntsville. On April 30th, 2018, Mr. Walker joined Marshall Medical Centers as its Chief Financial Officer.


Kathy Woodruff, Chief Nursing Officer

Kathy Woodruff holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Jacksonville State University along with a Master of Nursing Administration from University of Alabama in Huntsville. Mrs. Woodruff served in the Army Nurse Corps from 1987-1994. She has been an invaluable part of the staff at Marshall Medical Centers since 1997, and has worked as the Director of Inpatient Services, Acute Care and Special Deliveries and as the Chief Nursing Officer at Marshall Medical Center North. In 2019, Mrs. Woodruff assumed a system role as the Chief Nursing Officer.
