Roy Rollings, chairman of the Marshall County Healthcare Authority, and Chris Rush, president of Marshall Health Systems, are pleased to announce the promotion of Traci Stewart, currently Vice President of Operations to the role of Chief Operating Officer (COO) for MMC.
Stewart has more than 25 years of experience with MMC during which time she has served in a variety of roles and capacities. Effective Monday, November 18, 2024, in addition to maintaining her current direct reports, Traci’s role will expand to encompass the other clinical operation areas of MMC.

Stewart holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Alabama in Huntsville where she majored in Accounting. She obtained a Master of Business Administration from University of North Alabama with a concentration in Health Care Management. She began her career at Marshall Medical Center North in 1997 as a staff accountant. She has served in the system roles of Director of Finance and Accounting, Corporate Compliance Officer and most recently as Executive Director of Physician Practices and the Marshall Cancer Care Center. In October 2022, she assumed the role of Vice President of Operations.
Stewart lives in Arab with her husband of 30 years, Brian, who is employed at Leidos Dynetics in Huntsville. Their son Zachary has recently been accepted to the Alabama State Bar. He and his wife, Caroline, reside in Birmingham. Daughter Lindsey is a third-grade teacher in Tuscaloosa County.
