Marshall Medical Centers announces Health Care Heroes.

Diane Butler and Mary Blanton of Marshall Medical Centers were recently recognized as Healthcare Heroes by the North Alabama Council, a division of the Alabama Hospital Association. Nominations from hospitals across north Alabama were submitted and the two Marshall Medical Centers candidates were among the 10 healthcare workers recognized during the North Alabama Regional Meeting in Decatur on March 3. Mary Blanton, MMCS and Diane Butler, MMCN were recognized for their direct impact on the health and well-being of hospital patients, families and visitors. "These are men and women who have gone above and beyond the call of duty in serving their patients," said Stan Hammack, Chairman of the Alabama Hospital Association. "They represent well the mission of hospitals to heal and provide comfort, and we are pleased to be able to honor them."

The North Alabama Council's "Health Care Heroes" contest was one of seven regional contests held throughout the state. The regional and state "Health Care Heroes" contest is sponsored by the Alabama Hospital Association, along with the association's seven regional hospital councils, in an effort to highlight the excellent people who work in health care and to encourage others to consider a career in this field. Diane Butler and Mary Blanton were selected in the top ten from the North Alabama Council and are now eligible for selection as a state winner to be presented in May by the Alabama Hospital Association.
